Kanye West and Will.I.Am have re-worked tracks by Michael Jackson to coincide with the 25th anniversary of his pioneering album, ‘Thriller.’
The tracks will feature on, ‘Thriller – The 25th Anniversary Edition,’ which is set for release on February 11th.
As well as featuring the original album in its entirety, the re-issue will include eight bonus tracks, one of which is West’s much anticipated remix of, ‘Billie Jean.’
Will.I.Am meanwhile has remixed, ‘The Girl Is Mine,’ and also appears alongside Jackson on new versions of ‘P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)’ and ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something,’ the latter of which features US rapper Akon.
The unique re-issue will also include the previously unreleased, ‘For All Time,’ which was scrapped from the original Thriller recording sessions. The song has been re-mixed and mastered by Jackson.
Jackson’s original demo of ‘Billie Jean’ will also be included in the package.
The re-issue will be accompanied by a DVD which features Jackson’s short films for ‘Thriller,’ ‘Beat It,’ and ‘Billie Jean’ as well as the artist’s Emmy-nominated breakout performance of ‘Billie Jean’ from the ‘Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever’ television broadcast in May 1983.
