rock_the_vote.jpgThe last time California played a critical role in the primary season was in 1972, when George McGovern’s 5-point victory over Hubert Humphrey helped solidify the senator’s hold on the Democratic nod. The last time California was critically important on the GOP side was in 1964, when Barry Goldwater squeezed out a narrow victory over Nelson Rockefeller. Goldwater went on to win the Republican nomination.

John Kerry won every county in the 2004 primary. Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore and John Kerry all carried California by solid margins.

While California has a reputation for being heavily Democratic, mainly due to large metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles and San Francisco, the state also has a long history of supporting Republicans, especially for governor. Ronald Reagan became president after he was governor of the state, and Schwarzenegger currently holds the title.

California’s economy is larger than all but four nations, having surpassed France in 2002.

With so many electoral votes at stake, pundits say the state is crucial to picking either party’s nominee for president.

barackobama.jpgI don’t want to hear about Kucinich. I don’t want to hear about “unsure.” I don’t want to hear about “neither one.” Edwards is out, it’s now Hillary vs. Obama, and you’re not going to vote for another Republican, so you are going to vote and you are going to pick one or the other. Which one is it? Tell me in the comments section, right below this blog, and let’s see what you kids think…. I’m curious who you pick now.

obama600.jpgThis :FWD is making its way through the inter-web, I thought I would bring a little light, and my thoughts on the matter…. here is the email.

Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas.

Obama’s parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia. When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia .. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, “He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.”

Obama’s political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama’s introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son’s education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his, stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta .. Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking Major public office in the United States , Barack Hussein Obama hasm joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background.

ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Kuran (Their equivalency to our Bible, but very different beliefs) Let us all remain alert concerning Obama’s expected presidential candidacy. The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President of the United States, one of their own!!!! Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leading our country?…… NOT ME!! If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to all your contacts………this is very scary to think of what lies ahead of us here in our own United States…….. better heed this and pray about it and share it.
THIS DEFINITELY WARRANTS LOOKING INTO. THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED, “ONE NATION UNDER GOD”. ALMIGHTY GOD, NOT THE GOD OF THE KORAN.

Wait a Minute…..You seriously want me to believe that the people who typed this letter have to stoop so low as to call out where Obama’s PARENTS enrolled him in school to define who he is as a person, much less as a leader. The last time I checked, when your under 18 you really dont have the choice as to which school you are enrolled in, where you are brought up, or which religion your parents decide is best for them, which in turn is usually brought on you. If we are going to be made to beleive that Obama is a terrorist, we might want to go ahead and lay out all the fact of the latest TERRORIST we elected in office twice before, George W. Bush.

Lets look at the definition for the word, terrorism.

Terrorism - the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear.

Here are a few example of how our president now fits into this category;

* George W. Bush, in his unprovoked attack against the sovereign nation of Iraq, openly violated the UN Charter, to which the US is a signatory. The Charter’s core principles contained in Article 2(4) and Article 51 prohibit one nation from attacking another except in self-defense or with the authority of the U.N. In effect, George Bush launched an unlawful use of force against persons and property.

* The invasion launched by George W. Bush was heralded by the most frightening and powerful use of force and military violence in recent history. His Shock and Awe bombardment of Baghdad was designed to intimidate and coerce the government as well as the civilian population of that nation to change its existing leadership. That, in itself, was a political objective.

* The purpose of the invasion and ensuing occupation of Iraq was to replace the existing dictatorship with an American-backed form of democracy that would not permit the emergence of a government headed by the majority Shia religious leadership. These motives were unquestionably political and social.

That my friends, is terrorism.

Barack Obama is free thinker, someone who has decided to become his own person and try to fix a lot of what is wrong with this country. He is not a product of his parents decisions, but a human, free to choose and be an individual, just like all of us are in the US. If you really think that Barack Obama was ‘placed’ here to terrorize our country, than you probably should not vote for him, because apparently you have tons of other issues to deal with.

So before you mix up the simple religion, Muslim, with the actual members of Al Qaeda who we refer to, and i also beleive to be “Terrorist”, make sure you get your facts right. Currently, there are an estimated 1.4 billion Muslims, making it the second largest religion in the world. Saying the word Muslim to describe all Terrorist from the Al Qaeda is like saying all Christians are White Supremacy members. No, hard core White-Supremest were also hard core Christians, who took their beliefs to a new level, and hurt many innocent people because of it. Lets all layoff crazy theories and ideals, and stick to the facts of the race, what each candidate can do for us as a country, and how we can fix this mess that we have found ourselves in.

bbc_logo.gifIf you’re into the race for President (which you should be, if you’re not then you really need to sit down, grab a snapple, and make a list of your life priorities) then you should check out BBC’s Poll Tracker, its a pretty fun tool. And it’s also kind of neat to think of all the candidates as different colored little lines and bullets on a grid. The polltracker is designed to give a basic overview of key US opinion polls in the run up to the presidential election in 2008. These polls show how each contender seeking their party’s official nomination is faring in competition with their own-party rivals.

061209_clintonobama_vlwidec.jpgThe Chicago Tribune Reports:
It’s one thing in politics to cite an opponent’s record when criticizing him. But it’s quite another to cite his Permanent Record—the legendary, indelible and largely mythical account of all that we do as schoolchildren.

Yet that’s just what the campaign of Democratic presidential contender Sen. Hillary Clinton did Sunday, issuing a spitball of a news release that alluded scornfully to an essay that primary opponent Sen. Barack Obama wrote when he was in kindergarten.

Referring to an old Associated Press story that quoted Obama’s former teacher, the release informed us that, “In kindergarten, Senator Obama wrote an essay titled ‘I Want to Become President.’”

The news release also noted that the Los Angeles Times has reported that Obama’s third 3rd-grade teacher recalls him writing “I Want To Be a President” in response to an assignment asking students to write an essay titled “My dream: What I want to be in the future.”

I called the Obama campaign’s Chicago headquarters on Monday: “I’m checking into rumors that your candidate used to write his R’s backwards,” I said. “Will you confirm or deny?”

Spokesman Ben LaBolt refused to go anywhere near the penmanship issue.

“All I’ll say is that we’re preparing for the charge that Obama flip-flopped when he decided in second 2nd grade that he wanted to be an astronaut,” LaBolt said.

Is there paste-eating in Obama’s past? Pigtail-pulling? The chewing of gum in school when he didn’t bring enough for everyone?

Clinton’s lucky that the late-night TV comics are on hiatus due to the writers’ strike, otherwise this blunder would launch a thousand jokes, each one portraying Clinton as desperate and ruthless as she tries to regain momentum in Iowa from the surging Obama.

And a blunder it certainly was: The point of the news release was to discredit Obama’s “aw shucks” act—the notion he projects that the idea of running for president had hardly even occurred to him until an irresistible swell of encouragement all but ripped the stovepipe hat off his head and threw it into the ring.
