review.jpg I just listened to the whole Madonna CD, and here is my 2-cents:

First off, Madonna, I love you… a lot, but I just can’t get over the way you use the simplest words in your lyrics. You rhyme here with clear, and repeat stealin’ and feelin’ like you’re a Duff sister. I mean, you must have other people write your interviews when your on TV because it sounds like you take classes with the classiest of Brits (I know, you’re welcome, I referred to you as a Brit.) AND, didn’t Nelly Furtado make this CD with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland  last year? Oh… and that’s a whole other can-of-worms, Timbaland. How many more hand claps and whistles can I take before I turn into 14 year-old girl with acne and an eating problem. While we’re on the subject of Producians (Producers turned wanna-be musicians) Pharrell your cute and talented and all, but the whiney refrains you decide to throw in sound like your trying to pass a kidney stone.

OK, now let’s get to the songs. We have all heard 4-Minutes, which I will admit, I sorta love, especially because I am constantly reminded how long I have to listen to it, and 4-minutes is just about the point when I wanna turn it off, so touché on that one. Next, “She’s Not Me” is a simple little ditty about some chick who isn’t Madonna and she never will be, well… um, no shizza Madonna, you’re a billion-dollar industry, so I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Now “Heartbeat” and “Miles Away” are Kylie Minogue rip offs, I guess she is hoping main stream America, who is not to hip on the Minogue-train won’t notice. However, the fun up-tempo tracks “Dance 2Night” with Justin Timberlake (yet again) is quite fun, and “Beat Goes On” with Kanye West (MP3) is a nice little summer song that I know is going to gyrate from all those black Honda Civics rolling down any mid-town main drag street late every Saturday in a few weeks. BUT, the most clever and snazzy song on the upcoming HARD CANDY has got to be “Spanish Lesson”, where Madonna teaches us all the common Spanish sayings we need to know in order to make it in a hip-hop salsa club. My favorite is when she says “If you do your homework, maybe I will give you more, when you do your homework, get up on the dance floor” wha?!! Apparently, I didn’t do my homework, because that doesn’t make sense to me. I think those tight corsets and beige stirrups you have been wearing lately are holding in all that crazy juice. Let it out! Overall, the CD isn’t bad, but iTunes should find a way to make red wine downloadable as well, it would make a better pairing.

Well I haven’t blogged lately because I haven’t really had the time to click on anything remotely entertaining in the past 2 weeks. With a move from LA to NY, a new job at PageSix.com which went under as of yesterday, a move to The New York Post, and now unpacking all of boxes in my apartment. I am finally able to let my brain take a big huge stinky pop-culture poo. So here we go. My favorite things online for your downloading pleasure….

1) Nelly feat. Fergie - Party People - Party People is Nelly’s new single from his upcoming album Brass Knuckles. It’s a crazy banger produced by Polow Da Don, and featuring the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie. Hopefully this single makes more of an impact on radio than the lackluster Wadsyaname.

2) Amanda Overmyer - Back in the U.S.S.R. - A hot little number from one of the Top 12 on this seasons American Idol.

3) Madonna - 4 Minutes (Ft. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland) - If you havn’t sean a recent commerical with this song in it, or turned on your FM dial…then shame on you! However, if you have you know exactly what all the hype is about. This may be my favorite find of March.

4) Santana ft. J.Lo & Baby Bash- ‘This Boy’s Fire’ - After the success of the first single ‘Into The Night’ featuring Chad Kroeger, Santana will be releasing ‘This Boy’s Fire’ featuring Jennifer Lopez and Baby Bash as his second single to Pop Radio. The song is sure to be Jennifer Lopez first hit in a long while and maybe will spark more interest in her next releases. The radio-edit of the song is a bit different than the album version- different beginning, and added beats and verses- so check it out! It’s definitely a hit song in the making.

5) Mariah Carey ft. The-Dream - Touch My Body (Remix)
I almost didn’t post this… I am scared of Mariah, as any blogger should be. But I sucked it up and decided it won’t be so bad if I let the world know the latest skankilicious jam freaking its way into my heart.

6) Jesse McCartney “Leavin’” (Bimbo Jones Radio Mix) - Look what Summerland resident has moved out of mommy’s house and is now playing with the big boys. Sans blonde locks and squeeky voice, this may be my favorite of his crap-ass collection.

7, 8, 9, 10 Need no Explanation! REMIXES BABY!

7) Ratatat - Wildcat (E*Vax Remix)
8) Menomena - Weird (Dekoder Remix)
9) Outkast - BOB (Diplo Remix)
10) Cadence Weapon - House Music (Bird Peterson Southbound Remix)

You can always count on Kanye West to come up with pretty powerful visual interpretations of his songs. The video for Flashing Lights is no different.

It makes Madonna’s What It Feels Like A Girl look like a joke, so I have a feeling MTV is not going to play it.

mashed51.gif I never post numerous songs on one download, Lord knows I’m way too picky to just download one URL with numerous songs….. HOWEVER, there are exceptions to every rule (I mean look at Julia Roberts acting career.) So now that I’ve pacified what I am about to do, I guess it’s time to post it. 51 Mashups, 1 Download…. thoughts?
